The East Central Community Collage Lady Warriors playing softball this afternoon at the Softball Complex in Decatur hosting the Mississippi Delta Community College Lady Trojans from Moorehead. The Lady Warriors entered today’s games 27-9 overall and 14-8 in conference while the Lady Trojans entered 2-26 overall and 2-18 in conference. Two games between the teams will be played this afternoon however only the first game will be broadcast.
In game one, the Lady Trojans were unable to score a run in the top of the 1st inning but the Lady Warriors put nine runs on scoreboard in the bottom of the inning taking a 9-0 lead in the game. The Lady Trojans scored a homerun in the top of the 2nd to get on the scoreboard and cut the Warriors lead to eight runs, 9-1, however EC’s Ali Gartman also scored a homerun in the bottom of the inning driving in two runs for the Lady Warriors and then added another run before the end of the 2nd inning to increase their lead to eleven runs, 12-1. The Lady Warriors picked up three more runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning for a commanding 15-1 lead in the game. The Lady Warriors continued to roll in the bottom of the 4th inning, adding another six runs to take a 21-1 lead. The game ended after the lady Trojans failed to score in the top of the 5th inning due to the “eight run rule after five innings” giving the Lady Warriors a 21-1 win in game one. Game two will not be broadcast.
