Long Term Care Facilities in Attala, Leake, Neshoba, and Winston still Covid-19 Negative

Long-term care facilities such as nursing homes are continuing to report zero cases of COVID-19 in the areas of Attala, Leake, Neshoba, and Winston County. According to the MSDH website, "long-term care (LTC) facilities are considered high risk locations because their residents are older or in poor health. Even one case of COVID-19 in these facilities among residents or employees is considered an outbreak. We investigate residents, staff and close contacts of infected individuals for possible exposure."

Trump Declares Mississippi a Disaster Region

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi has become the latest U.S. state declared a major disaster area by President Donald Trump amid the new coronavirus outbreak. The Mississippi Department of Health is reporting new cases in Leake, Neshoba, and Winston Counties today. Leake is reporting 11 cases, Neshoba is reporting 11 cases, Winston is reporting 15 cases overall and Attala remains the same at 15 cases. 38 long term facility cases are reported.100 new cases are confirmed this morning with a 6% increase since Sunday. 1738 cases are reported overall statewide. 8 additional deaths are confirmed with 51 deaths overall.

A streamlined economic injury loan application is now available through the SBA website. The Small Business Administration is collecting the requested information to make loans available under SBA's Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program to the qualified entities that are impacted by COVID-19, according SBA's website. "The information will be used in determining whether the applicant is eligible for the loan."
