Clarke County authorities have arrested several people in a massive drug roundup.

Sheriff Todd Kemp says 18 people are in custody for a variety of drug charges – including sale of cocaine, methamphetamine and hydrocodone.

“We’re going to make a stand in Clarke County,” he says. “We’re not going to tolerate it.”

The sheriff says many of these suspects sold drugs to undercover officers.

He says they’re cracking down hard on drugs in Clarke county – partly because of all the other crimes drugs can bring to the area.

“What people need to understand is that the influx of drugs in your community or any community – that involves your burglary, that involves your theft, that involves your armed robbery,” Sheriff Kemp says. “Everything that we deal with on a daily basis and some domestic violence cases all revert back to illegal drugs.”

The sheriff says three more people are wanted on drug charges.

Cordero Laphand and Anthony Winnick are wanted on multiple charges for sale of crack cocaine. Stanley Pace is anted for sale of marijuana.
