The Kemper County Sheriff’s Department is continuing its crackdown on contraband in the jail.
Five people were arrested Sunday for smuggling or having contraband in the Kemper, Neshoba Correctional Facility. Darron Thomas, Valerie Terrell, Nathan Nelson, Kaleeta Ward and Dikirra Stewart were all arrested today for bringing in various drugs and banned items into the jail.
“When you do that, it’s like playing Wheel of Fortune. Sometimes you hit the jackpot and sometimes you go bankrupted. It seems like everyone went bankrupt today. We are going to continue to keep that stuff out of there,” Kemper County Sheriff James Moore says.
If you are caught taking any kind of contraband, including cell phone components, that is considered a felony.
