Loved ones are remembering Hunter Garrett. The 19-year-old student died in a car wreck just outside of Philadelphia Saturday morning.
The Northeast High School graduate was enrolled at Meridian Community College. Garrett’s former assistant principal, Emily Lee, knew him in and out of school. Garrett was one of her son’s closest friends. Lee says Garrett was a delight to have around.
“He was just the best. He always had a smile on his face. He always came in, he was always prepared, because he was a very good student. He always made the class much more enjoyable just because he was in there,” says Lee.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is still investigating the one-car crash.
Garrett’s funeral is Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in Meridian.
