David Carter
Candidate for
Supervisor District 5 Neshoba County
I firmly believe this position is meant to be a privilege to serve and NOT a job for the purpose of getting a check every month. The position should be limited to two terms, and not a perpetual career. I also believe the county should be run the same way a successful business is run by using aggressive cost cutting and Federal grant money before considering any tax increase. I will work to get more manufacturing companies locating to Neshoba County providing better jobs for the future.
I have been married to Marlene Vowell for 47 years with 3 sons, 16 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. I am a Viet Nam veteran and Navy pilot holding a BS Engineering degree from the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland, and an MBA from Georgia College.
After leaving the Navy, I was employed as a design engineer by Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan and held senior management positions in manufacturing operations, project management, and product development with Volvo and Navistar companies. I have been a local business owner for the past 13 years and provide accounting support to my son Eric who owns Extreme Tinting next to Bobby’s Country Store. I am currently a Blue & Gold Officer for the Naval Academy responsible for recruiting and counseling applicants and working with area schools and Guidance Counselors in Neshoba and surrounding counties.
If I am elected, I work for you. I want to hear from you in the coming months before the election what you expect from your supervisor by calling 601-663-6240 or email me at [email protected].
