PSC Warns About Phone Scam

A reward just for paying your electric bills on time?  Don’t count on it.  The Mississippi Public Service Commission says it’s a scam and the PSC is warning the public not to fall for it.  A woman told the commission Monday she got a call from a man claiming to work for the PSC who said she’d receive $200 for being prompt in paying her bills.  He then asked for her credit card information to process the “reward”.  The PSC says it would never request such information and is urging people who get a similar call to hang up.  The Attorney General’s office has been asked to investigate.
