
The Leake Academy Rebels varsity baseball team played the first of a 3 game series at home today with the Raiders of Lamar School from Meridian.
The Rebels trailed the Raiders 3-0 before scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning.
The Raiders bounced back to tie the game 5-5 in the top of the 4th and the game remained tied until the 6th inning when the Raiders added a run to take a 6-5 lead but the Rebels were not to be denied the home victory as they scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th to go ahead 9-6 then closed out the game in the top of the 7th inning.
Charlie Brantley was named tonight’s In-Sports player of the game.
Game two of the series will be played tomorrow in Meridian with the final game of the series scheduled for Friday night in Madden.
