DeKALB, Miss.–It was an inside job, says the Kemper County Sheriff’s Dept. A store employee and a man who deputies say passed fake $100 bills on at least two occasions have been arrested.

According to a news release from the department, Larry Griffin bought items at the Dollar General in DeKalb at least twice using phony $100 bills.

Deputies say Ashley Adams, an employee at the store, had knowledge the bills were not real, but took them anyway.

The malfeasance happened July 9, and that is when the investigation began.

Both men are charged with possession of counterfeit currency, two counts each, and have bonds at $40,000.
