CARTHAGE, Miss.–A woods fire was reported on County Line Rd. in Leake County Saturday afternoon.
The Barnes Fire Dept. was called out about 2 p.m.
Dispatchers received information that the fire was large and well off the road, so the Miss. Forestry Commission was notified to be on the way to assist.
Firefighters confirmed the Forstry Commission was needed.
Firefighters were having a tough time fighting the fire. But, Forestry Commission units were stretched thin, already helping with fires in Walnut Grove and in Attala County.
