Recent Storms Bring Baby Gator to Williamsville Community in Attala

Move over, deer, armadillos, and ‘possums. There’s a new critter causing a stir in Attala County, and it’s got teeth!

A baby alligator was spotted lounging in a roadside ditch in the Williamsville community Thursday afternoon. The tiny reptile is presumed to be just over a foot long.

Young gators can wander after heavy rains so it’s possible this one came from a nearby river or creek. Should you spot it, you should keep your distance — no matter how cute the critter looks.
