Leake Academy’s George Wilcox will be among the best high school quarterbacks in the state in attendance at the 601 Elite QB Camp Saturday night at Jackson Academy.
Organized by QB coach Wyatt Davis, the camp, which brings together top high school and junior college quarterbacks from the southeast, focuses on refining mechanics, footwork, and decision-making under live pressure.
Wilcox finished his junior season as the leading passer in the state.
He threw for 3,623 yards and 41 touchdowns, averaging 278.7 yards per game with a QB rating near 110 and helped lead Leake Academy to an appearance in the MAIS 5A State Championship Game.
As a sophomore, Wilcox gained notoriety when he passed for 542 yards and nine TDs during a playoff game against Silliman (LA) Institute.
“He’s been lighting it up at Leake Academy the past few years,” Davis told ESPN 105.9’s Jake Wimberly. “He’s just got a high football IQ.”
Heading into his senior season, the 6‑2, 215‑pound QB holds offers from Itawamba Community College and Pear River Community College.
Other area QBs featured at the camp will be Choctaw County’s KJ Cork, Kosciusko’s Caiden Wade, and Winston Academy’s Paxton Greer.
The camp will begin at 6:30 pm and is open to the public.
One of my favorites right here.. True hidden gem for the 2026 class. Your leading passer for Mississippi this past year was @GeorgeWilcox_1 (Leake Academy). He threw for 3,379 yards & 41 passing tds (226/379 (60%). Football IQ through the roof. Someone will get a steal. pic.twitter.com/h1pBm5IePT
