Multiple traffic incidents were reported in Leake County on Monday, Dec. 15, resulting in some traffic delays and one minor injury.
At approximately 7:30 a.m., a caller reported that a chicken hauler semi truck rear-ended her vehicle while she was stopped for a school bus on Highway 487 E near Crane Rd. No injuries were reported, though the roadway was temporarily blocked. Leake County Deputies and MHP responded to the scene.
Later that morning at 9:22 a.m., authorities were alerted to a crash on Hwy 25. Reportedly, a 16-foot trailer that detached from a truck crossed the median, and struck a log truck. Deputies and MHP were dispatched, but upon arrival, the log truck was no longer on scene. The owner of the truck reattached the trailer and left the area after speaking with law enforcement.
At 12:40 p.m., Leake County Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on Dennis Rd., about two miles off Hwy 487. The roadway was partially blocked, and one person sustained a minor injury. EMS was notified so the individual could be checked at the scene.
