A man was arrested in Carthage Friday afternoon after pulling a gun on his girlfriend during a disturbance in the county.
Authorities were alerted to the situation and that the male was driving toward the city. Officers set up at the city limits on Hwy 16 West in an effort to intercept the vehicle.
At approximately 2:09 p.m., the truck entered the city at a high rate of speed. Officers pursued and were able to stop the vehicle int he parking lot of Wendy’s on Hwy 16 West.
The driver, Timothy Erwin, has been charged with DUI, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, open container violation and reckless driving. Authorities say more charges are pending.
