The Leake Academy varsity basketball teams were back in action today in the Neshoba Classic in Philadelphia playing Tishomingo County. The Lady Rebels were tied with the Lady Braves 23-23 at halftime and held a 1 point lead at the end of the third quarter,35-34. The game was decided in the last seconds of the final quarter when the Lady Rebels had a 3 point attempt blocked by the Lady Braves to give them a 45-43 victory over the Lady Rebels.
In the Men’s game, the Rebels were up by 21 points at halftime, 39 to 18. The Braves battled back in the 3rd quarter to cut the Rebel lead back to 15 points, 53-38. In the final quarter the Rebels came away with a big 27 point victory, 70-43.
Our next broadcast of Leake Academy varsity basketball action will be Tuesday, January 6 on Cruisin 98 when the Rebels return to Madden to play the Generals of Washington School from Greenville.
