Carthage authorities have arrested the individual responsible for a hit-and-run accident on Highway 35 North that left a man critically injured.
According to a Facebook post, Henry Tomas was taken into custody Tuesday night, Jan. 27, at his home in Canton. He is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injuries and is being held at the Leake County Jail pending his initial court appearance.
Carthage Police credited teamwork and community support in bringing the suspect to justice. The investigation involved assistance from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Mississippi Highway Patrol, Canton Police Department, Leake County Sheriff’s Office, and local residents who provided tips and information.
