The Leake Academy 3A MAIS State Champion varsity boys and girls basketball teams traveled to Clinton today to begin play in the MAIS Overall Tournament at the Golden Dome at Mississippi College in Clinton and both teams won their opening games to advance to the quarter overall finals Saturday afternoon. The Rebels were first to play today against the Patriots of Heritage Academy from Columbus. The Rebels won the game by 6 points, 64-58 and will play Jackson Prep Saturday with tipoff set for 2:15pm. The Lady Rebels played the Lady Yellowjackets of Oak Forest Academy from Amite, Louisiana and finished the game winning by 51 points, 68-17. The Lady Rebels will play East Rankin Academy Lady Patriots Saturday with the tipoff set for 1:00pm.
