“Serve Your Communities”: Boswell Media Brings Home Station of the Year, Best Newscast, Many Other Awards

JACKSON, Miss.–Boswell Media’s radio stations and media entities swept the top award categories, plus several special awards at the annual Excvellence in Broadcasting Award Banquet by the Mississippi Assoc. of Broadcasters, Saturday in Jackson.

Among those awards were Station of the Year for WCKK (Kicks96), and Radio Personality of the Year for Brian “BMO” Montgomery. This is the third year inb a row for the Station of the Year win for Kicks96.

In addition, news anchor Randy Bell was recognized with a Best Newscast award for the newscast from Nov.6, 2026.

A couple of the others in the news categories:

  • A Continuing Coverage First Place Award for Ethel Girls Volleyball
  • A Multimedia First Place Award for Whippet Memories and Motivation: The Road to State (Breck Riley)
  • Radio Anchor Reporter for 2026 First Place AQward for Chris Davis

In the category of Best Commercial Campaign, Kicks96 was recognized for the Baptiost Memorial Hospital Leake series of commercials with a First Place award.

One of the most prestigious awards is the recogniotion of a career in broadcasting, with the Radio Lifetime Achievement Award, which went to Boswell Media President Johnny Boswell.

“I encourage you to keep doing what we do as broadcasters,” said Boswell, to the broadcasters gathered there Saturday night. “Keep serving your communities and every one of you wins.”

Boswell Media will be updating this article with a more comprehensive list of the award for which the crew of Breck Riley, Melissa Boswell Townsend, Brian “BMO” Montgomery, Ashlee Davis, Macy Price, Lora Beckham, Randy Bell and Chris Davis were recognized.
