PHILADELPHIA, Miss.–A man who was captured in 1942 by Japanese forces in the Phillipines, and died at the Cabanatuan Prison Camp, was buried Friday in Philadelphia.
U.S. Army Air Corps Tech Edwin Ross was buried at Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Ross survived the Bataan death march, but died in the prison and was buried in a common grave.
His remains were positively identified in 2018 through the Cabanatuan, using DNA analysis. His remains were declared accounted for in July 2025, and eventually returned to the U.S.
