A stolen vehicle was recovered Monday, April 20, 2026, following a high-speed, multi-agency pursuit spanning Leake and Neshoba counties.

According to authorities, a maroon 2017 Toyota Corolla was reported stolen from the Marathon gas station on Holland Avenue in Philadelphia just before 5 p.m. The vehicle’s owner said they went inside the store for a few minutes and returned to discover the vehicle was missing. A cell phone left inside the vehicle was used to help track its location.

Philadelphia Police Chief Eric Lyons says officers coordinated with surrounding agencies to locate the vehicle. Deputies with the Leake County Sheriff’s Office spotted the car on Highway 16 East and attempted a traffic stop.

The driver fled, leading deputies on a high-speed chase exceeding 100 miles per hour. During the pursuit, authorities noted that the driver made multiple dangerous maneuvers, including passing in curves and on double lines, nearly striking other vehicles head-on, and speeding through an active construction zone.

At one point, the driver turned around and headed back toward Neshoba County. The chase ended on Isaac Road, where the driver wrecked and came to a stop at a dead end.

The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Sherente’ Cain Dove Tubby of Philadelphia. Tubby is currently in custody with Choctaw Police and is expected to face charges from multiple agencies, including the Leake County Sheriff’s Office and the Philadelphia Police Department.
