A Georgia man who’s a suspect in last weekend’s theft of an estimated 11 head of cattle from the East Mississippi Farmers Livestock barn in Philadelphia was taken into custody today in Tupelo. Neshoba County Sheriff Eric Clark says William Hernandez, 35, was detained and is now in the custody of Philadelphia police. Law enforcement had been looking for a black Dodge Ram pickup hauling a cattle trailer which was seen on surveillance video pulling up at the barn Sunday morning. Clark says the truck was spotted in Kosciusko a short time earlier. After the theft, the sheriff says the truck was seen on camera on Highway 16 in Kemper County crossing into Alabama. There’s no word yet on whether any of the cattle have been recovered.
