The Division two State Championship baseball game took place at Madden tonight between the Leake Academy Rebels and the Amite School Center Rebels. Each team had one win in the series with tonight’s game determining the State Champs. The teams were tied 3-3 after the 3rd inning, then Amite scored 3 runs in the top of the 4th then added 5 more runs in the top of the 5th inning to take an 11-3 lead. However Leake Academy scored 7 runs in the bottom of the 5th to cut Amite’s lead to 1 run, 11-10. LA then tied the game in the top of the 6th inning, 11-11 but tonight’s top of the 7th inning comeback belonged to Amite, scoring 3 runs and preventing the Rebels from answering in the bottom of the inning giving Amite School Center a 14-11 victory and the state championship.
