The driver of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run crash on the Natchez Trace Parkway that injured a bicyclist who was traveling through Attala County earlier this month has still not been located. Breezy News has been informed that the cyclist will recover from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
We are told the bicyclist is an active retirement-aged man who parked at the Kosciusko Information Center to bike the trace. He traveled north about 9 miles to the area of mile marker 169 before he was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle apparently fled the scene without notifying first responders. A piece of debris from a vehicle was located at the scene.

Initial Story – Friday, May 8, 2026
A bicyclist was struck by a vehicle on the Natchez Trace Parkway near mile marker 169 and Stonewall Road Friday morning and transported by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Attala.
The incident was reported just before 10:30 a.m. when a passerby found the bicycle rider lying in the roadway unresponsive. The identity of the rider is currently unknown.
Attala County Firefighters, Attala Deputies, EMS, and Natchez Trace Park Rangers were dispatched to the scene.
The bike rider was transported by ambulance to the Baptist Memorial Hospital-Attala Emergency Department, and his condition is currently unknown.
Evidence of a vehicle hitting the bicycle was found, but no vehicle was located at the scene. Authorities are investigating the incident. We will update you here when more information is available.
