Heavy Rain Still Expected in MS, Tornadoes Possible

SHARE NOW

What had been Tropical Storm Arthur dissipated near the southeastern Texas coast last night.  However, the threat of heavy rain and severe storms will continue for Mississippi as the remnants of the storm push through the state today.

A flood watch continues for portions of the local area including Leake and Neshoba counties.  Two to four inches of additional rainfall are possible today across Leake, Neshoba, Winston and southeastern Attala counties with one to two inches in other parts of the local area.

There’s also a marginal risk of isolated severe storms across most of Mississippi today and again on Friday.   Brief, weak tornadoes will be possible today.
