PHILADELPHIA, Miss.–Four people were shot, with one person pronounced dead and the other three taken to hospitals in Philadelphia Sunday morning, said the Philadelphia Police Department.
The shooting happened on Walnut St., according to a Facebook post from the police department.
The first calls came in at two minutes after midnight. Police radio traffic indicates the shootings happened among a large crowd of people. It was unclear how many shots may have been fired.
Several 911 calls indictaed several people had been shot and when police arrived they found a 19 year old man who had been shot several times. He was taken by ambulance to Neshoba General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
His identity has not been released.
A woman who had been shot in the leg was taken by private vehicle to the hospital and later taken to a Jackson hospital. Her condition was unclear.
Another person was grazed in the leg and another person was grazed in the arm by a bullet.
