The Neshoba County Nursing Home in Philadelphia was evacuated for a time on Wednesday, September 23 due to a fire. The Philadelphia Fire Department was dispatched to the facility at approximately 11 a.m. after nurses reported seeing smoke and flames.
Philadelphia Police and Neshoba County Deputies helped residents and staff safely exit the building. Firefighters located and extinguished the fire, then worked to ventilate the smoke from the building.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently unknown.
