Leake County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Joshua Pinkard graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, on September 17, becoming the first member of the Leake County Sheriff’s Office to attend the prestigious program.
Pinkard was among 265 law enforcement officers who graduated as part of the academy’s 299th session. The class included officers from 44 states and the District of Columbia, as well as 29 international officers representing 28 countries.
The FBI National Academy is a 10-week program offering advanced training in areas including leadership, communication, wellness, and fitness. Participants have an average of 21 years of law enforcement experience and typically serve in leadership roles within their agencies.
During the program, Pinkard completed five master’s-level courses and began working toward his master’s-level education. He also completed the academy’s challenging “Yellow Brick Road,” a 6.2-mile course that includes Marine Corps obstacles at Quantico.
Pinkard described the experience as the “training of a lifetime.”
