Extreme heat a factor in death of Winston Co. woman

The Winston County Coroner said a woman has died due to the extreme heat on Monday.

Winston County Coroner Scott Gregory said a 74-year-old woman was mowing her yard when she had an apparent heart attack.

Gregory says she did have an extensive health history, but it’s believed she got too hot while outside around 3 p.m. Monday afternoon.

She was rushed to the emergency room where she was pronounced dead.
