As of 4:30 am some Central Electric customers remained without power in Attala. Leake and Neshoba Counties. Central Electric crews worked through the night restoring a number of customers but there are still outages. At 2:44 pm Attala Deputies along with Attala Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a one vehicle MVA on highway 35 north. The caller said it was located near the bar just outside of town. They reported a white pickup with a trailer ran off the road. No injuries were reported.
Clarksdale power crew continues to work on Central Electric Power Association outages near Edinburgh. Many CEPA customers have been without power since Thursday afternoon. According to linemen some customers should see restored power later today. Update: A three-year-old girl and her grandfather have been identified as the victims in a fatal wreck on the Natchez Trace Parkway. Attala County Coroner Sam Bell identified the victims as Leah Nichols, 3, and her grandfather Johnny Nichols, 72 ,of Baldwyn, MS. The two were pronounced dead around 2:00 pm Saturday, March 25 after the vehicle they were traveling in flipped and landed in a creek near mile marker 152 of the Natchez Trace Parkway.
