On Monday at 7:25am, there was a wreck reported on Hwy 16 West involving an eighteen wheeler and a Camaro. First officer on the scene advised that there was no entrapment, but wanted EMS on scene. One person was transported to Baptist Leake.

On Monday at 5:22am, there was a report of a two-vehicle accident with possible entrapment blocking the road on Highway 35 at County Line Road. Deputies, fire department, and EMS responded. One person was extricated from their vehicle and transported to UMMC.

Grass Fire on Highway 25
On Thursday at 8:17pm, there was a report of a grass fire on Hwy 25 south, about a mile north of the Hwy 16 intersection. Carthage Fire responded and had the fire out shortly.
Rebels’ softball player named to All-State team
