Local Area Closures Due To Anticipated Arrival of Hurricane Ida

B-MO in the MO'rning - With the anticipated arrival of Hurricane Ida, the following closures are in effect for tomorrow: All classes scheduled for Attala, Neshoba, Leake and Winston County Schools have been closed. Tyson Foods of Carthage has also shut down production for Monday. All Mid Mississippi Regional Libraries will be closed Monday. Carthage City Hall will be closed Monday August 30th. Attala County Fire Department Teaches Fire Safety to Attala Career Tech Center Students

For the third year in a row, Attala County Fire Department Captain Morgan Smith taught students at Attala Career Tech Center a valuable lesson. A former combat firefighter, Captain Smith demonstrated under careful supervision practice the P.A.S.S. technique (which stands for Point, Aim, Squeeze and Sweep) on a small controlled fire at the high school.
