Woods Fire Fought on Mars Hill Rd.
CARTHAGE, Miss.--Several volunteer fire agencies reponded to a woods fire Wednesday evening on Mars Hill Rd.
The call came in about 7 p.m.
Once firefighters arrived on the scene, they said Mississippi Forestry Commission units were needed to help knock down the fire.

Deputies Investigate Stabbing Threat
CARTHAGE, Miss.--Leake County deputies investigated a threat Wednesday evening about 6:30 on Nichols Rd.
The incident was called in by a woman who said her brother had a knife and was threatening to stab her.
It was unclear if an arrest was made.
