The Carthage City Hall lobby is closed. Mayor Vivians announced tonight that the closure was based on a decision to sanitize the building again. She went on to say that there had been an increase of COVID-19 cases in the community. The drop box is open and staff is available by phone at 601-267-8322. *City Hall will provide an update about a re-opening date. ******Morning Update – Upon reaching out to the Mayor for further details, it has been officially confirmed that “Some city employees throughout the region have been recently diagnosed with COVID-19. So we are closing certain public areas for the time being out of caution and concern. Please continue to wear a mask and practice social distancing” Additional updates are forthcoming from the Mayor’s office.
