CANTON, Miss.–A woman from Carthage died in a head-on wreck with a Peterbilt truck Saturday on Hwy. 16 in Madison County.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol says the wreck happened near Ratliff Rd. about 5 p.m.
Ashley Stephens, 40, of Carthage, and her passenger, Johnnie Luckett, 70, also of Carthage, were in a Nissan Altima, when the two vehicles collided.
Stephens died of her injuries. Luckett was taken to the hospital in Carthage.
The driver of the Peterbilt, Terry Nichols, 43, of Canton, was not hurt.
The wreck is still under investugation by the Highway Patrol.
