Gasbuddy’s head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick DeHaan, said Mississippi almost always has the cheapest average in the country.
“When we compare prices nationally, Mississippi is often the top dog, with the lowest average gas prices because of its low gasoline taxes and because of its proximity to refineries in Texas and Louisiana,” he said.
