The East Central Community College Men’s and Women’s basketball teams played tonight in Decatur hosting the Baton Rouge Community College Bears and both teams improved their season records. First on the hardwood the Lady Warriors defeated the Lady Bears by 22 points, 70-48. After trailing the Lady Bears by 3 points after the opening quarter, the Lady Warriors were leading by 4 points at halftime, 30-26. In the second half the Lady Warriors took control of the game, up 14 points by the end of the 3rd quarter and winning the game by 22 points, 70-48. The Lady Warriors remain undefeated on the season 5-0.
It was a much closer contest in the Men’s game with the Bears leading by 5 points at the end of the first half, 32-27. The game remained very close in the second half with the Warriors taking the lead but then the Bears battling back to retake the lead. The game would continue very close with the Warriors taking the lead again late in the game then exploding in the final minutes to go ahead by a many as 11 points and winning the game by 8 points, 68-60. The Warriors improve their season record to 2-3 on the season.
