CARTHAGE, Miss.–A Carthage Police officer heard what he thought was a gunshot or shots Friday night about 11:30, while sitting in his car at Jr. Food Mart.
A short time later dispatchers got a call about gunshots on Cook St.
Officers patrolled the area of Cook St., Martin Luther King Dr., and Old Canton Rd., and found nothing.
A woman then called and said after the sound of gunshots someone beat on her door on Cook St. begging for help.
Police once again found nothing.
About 10 minutes later another person heard what sounded like gunshots in the same area.
Police again found nothing.
The gunshots were heard in the same neighborhood where someone was shot two weeks ago.
