The Leake Academy Rebels traveled to Jackson Academy this afternoon to play the Pioneers of Parklane Academy from McComb in the MAIS 5A State Championship game. The Rebels entered the game as the #3 seed in 5A while the Pioneers entered as the #1 seed. The Pioneers jumped out to a 21 point lead at halftime, 35-14. In the second half Parklane continued to outpace the Rebels in putting points on the scoreboard however the Rebels refused to stop trying to fight back against the Pioneers. When time expired in the final quarter Parklane won the 5A title by the final score of 70-42.
