LA Rebels Lose Heartbreaker in Final Seconds to Heritage 34-32

The Leake Academy Rebels traveled to Columbus tonight to play Heritage Academy hoping to improve their season record to 4-1 but Heritage also had hopes to improve to 5-1 on their season. The game was scoreless in the opening quarter but the Patriots were up by 4 points at halftime, 14-10. Offense for both teams improved in the second half with both teams scoring two touchdowns in the third quarter but the Patriots were still leading by 3 points, 28-25. In the final quarter the Rebels took the lead with a late quarter touchdown to go ahead 32-28 but with only 5 seconds remaining in the game Heritage answered the Rebels and scored the winning touchdown to win the contest by 2 points, 34-32. Next week the Rebels travel to Gallman to play Copiah Academy as the Rebels begin district play. Kickoff is set at 7:00pm with the Boswell Media pregame on the air at 6:10pm.
