The Leake Academy varsity basketball teams traveled to Philadelphia this afternoon to Nashoba Central to play in the Christmas Classic against the Warriors of Choctaw Central High School. The Lady Rebels, ranked number 3 in the state, were playing the number 2 ranked team in the state the Lady Warriors. The Lady Rebels were down by 10 points after the opening quarter but had trimmed that lead to 3 points at halftime, 14-11 Warriors. The Lady Rebels would outscore the Lady Warriors by 12 points in the third quarter to take the lead, 23-14. The Lady Rebels would go on to win the game by 6 points, 36-30 to improve to 22-0 overall this season.
The Rebels and Warriors were next on the hardwood with the Warriors coming away with a 9 point victory, over the Rebels, 56-47. Our next broadcast of Leake Academy basketball on Boswell Media Sports on Cruisin 98 with be Friday January 3rd at 6:00pm when the Rebels travel to Mendenhall to play the Cougars of Simpson Academy.
