CARTHAGE, Miss.–At least two large fires were reported Saturday in Leake County. One was a house fire that started in a garage about 8 p.m.
That fire was on Toby Lake Rd., just north of Hwy. 25. According to scanner traffic the fire began in the garage, which had cars in it. Volunteer firefighters from several departments were dispatched and dealt with the fire for over an hour.
Firefighters were also dealing with a fire that started around 5:30 p.m. Saturday on St. Anne Rd., which is west of Carthage and south of Thomastown.
