CARTHAGE, Miss.–An 18-wheeler ran off the road and ended up in the ditch, but was still partially blocking the road Friday night near the Twin City Meat Market.
The wreck was just after 10 p.m. neat the intersection of Hey. 35 and Hwy. 487.
While there were no injuries, the wreck posed a problem because of the difficulty pulling a semi trailer out of the ditch and back onto the road.
Several people at the scene tried using tractors with chains to pull the truck out of its predicament. Another 18-wheeler was also being used in the effort, with no positive results.
Finally when deputies reached the scene they called a wrecker service to handle the situation.
The driver may have been a new driver, according to police radio traffic.
