Several Wrecks Reported in Leake County Saturday; One Possible Head-on

CARTHAGE, Miss.–Several wrecks were reported Saturday in Leake County, beginning with a wreck on Hwy. 35 north about 4 a.m.

In the wreck no injuries were reported. But, once deputies got there they reported back that the passenger was drunk and the driver had left the scene.

Shortly after that at about 4:30, a car fire was reported near the MDOT facility on Hwy. 16 just outside the city limits of Carthage.

About 5:30 p.m. a wreck was reported on Hwy. 25 at Hwy. 13. Injuries were reported with that wreck and an ambulance was dispatched.

After the storms moved through a two-car wreck with injuries was reported on Hwy. 16 west near Swamp Rd. A tree was reported down near the area. One vehicle tried to miss the tree and hit the other vehicle.
