CARTHAGE, Miss.–A person was shot Saturday night about 11:20 in Carthage.
The 911 call came in to police dispatchers as a shots fired call at 11:22. Police searched for the source of the gunshots along Old Canton Rd after the person who called in met them and told them where they had heard the shots.
A short time later an officer radioed back in to dispatch that they had found a person with a gunshot wound at 901 Old Canton Rd.
Shortly after that an officer asked for dispatchers to ask EMS to hurry.
A couple of minutes later police called in the serial number of a Glock 9 mm pistol. A description of the possible shooter was also radioed out.
At the Same Time
Police also responded at the same time to a call from a woman who said her boyfriend was having a psychotic episode and was threatening her life on St. Anne Rd. Police were able to respond and took that person into custody.
Police also responded to a wreck on Pearl St. It wasn’t clear if there were any serious injuries.
