Shots Fired Calls in Carthage

CARTHAGE, Miss.–Carthage Police and Leake County deputies investigated calls about gunshots on Martin Luther King Dr. and on Cook St.

Those calls were just before 2 a.m. Saturday.

Police looked for people who had possibly been shooting and did not report back finding anyone, though one person called the dispatchers and said a person had been seen running in the area.

An earlier call

Friday evening about 7:30 someone made a 911 call and claimed someone had been shot on Chapel St., prompting city police and county deputies to respond. They did not find any victims.
