CARTHAGE, Miss.–Two separate domestic situations involving assaults happened at the same time Saturday night, both requiring Leake County deputies and ambulances.
Both were reported shortly before 7 p.m.
On the first one, on Laurel Hill Rd., deputies were called when a child said a father was hurting the mother. A person called back later and said the mother was hurt and needed an ambulance.
Deputies and the ambulance arrived about 7:15.
Just before 7:30 a deputy reported he was taking a man to jail.
On the second call on Purvis Rd., a teenager called and said his sister’s boyfriend was hurting the family.
Deputies responded and an ambulance was on the way when that person called back and said things weren’t as bad as originally reported.
When deputies got there, they canceled the call for an ambulance, determining no hands were laid on anyone.
But, an hour later deputies learned someone had been beaten at that house and returned to the scene, calling the ambulance that had been turned around, back.
