Last night’s storms didn’t do much to ease the heat stress in Mississippi. Most of the state including the local area will be under a heat advisory today with the heat index reaching 105 to 110 degrees this afternoon. And the heat wave is forecast to continue into next week. Several severe thunderstorms swept through this part of central Mississippi last night, but no significant damage has been reported.
