Armed and Intoxicated: McDonalds Disturbance Ends in Arrest

A Leake County man was arrested early Sunday morning after causing a disturbance at the McDonald’s drive-thru in Carthage.

Police responded to a call around 5 a.m. from employees reporting an irate, intoxicated customer who initially left the scene but later returned, pounding on the drive-thru window and brandishing a firearm. Officers quickly arrived and called for assistance from Leake County deputies.

The suspect, identified as 31-year-old William Stuart of Leake County, initially refused to exit his vehicle but was taken into custody without major incident.

Stuart faces multiple charges, including DUI (1st offense), exhibiting a weapon in a threatening manner, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and two counts of disorderly conduct.
