Emergency responders were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 16 West near Yellow Creek Road early Monday morning.
Leake County Deputies, the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), EMS, and the Carthage Fire Department responded to the crash at 6 a.m.
While emergency crews worked to clear the initial crash, a secondary wreck occurred nearby involving a semi-truck, a passenger vehicle, and a truck hauling a trailer.
One individual from the first accident was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
