Boswell Media’s radio, news, sports, and online efforts from 2023 have been nominated for multiple Excellence in Broadcasting Awards from the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters (MAB).
In total, the company earned 16 nominations over 11 different categories, with all three radio stations being represented.
For the third straight year, “BMO in the Morning” on Kicks 96 is nominated for best Radio Morning Show and host Brian “BMO” Montgomery received a second straight nomination for Radio Personality of the Year.
Randy Bell’s news coverage received nominations in Breaking News, Newscast, Breaking Weather, Continuing Coverage, and Feature Story categories. Bell is also nominated for Best Anchor/Reporter.
In sports, Breck Riley earned three nominations for Holmes Community College football play-by-play and Bell is nominated for a story about the USM baseball team’s elimination from the College World Series.
Additionally, online stories at BreezyNews.com earned two nominations in the Multimedia category.
The winners will be announced at the MAB Excellence in Broadcasting Awards Banquet Saturday, April 6 at the Old Capitol Inn in Jackson.
